Installing the DNS role

Prerequisites

To run the DNS role on a server, allow port 53 (TCP/UDP) on your firewall.

If you are running a server with only the DNS role installed, we recommend a minimum of 2GB RAM and 20GB disk space.

Installation Steps

  1. Click Servers in the left side bar.
  2. Choose the server that you want to add the DNS role to.
  3. Click Add role and select the DNS check box.
  4. Complete the configuration form and hit Add role to begin.
Note

You can safely navigate away from the server page while the service is being installed; you will receive a notification once the process is complete.
