"Failed to backup: Backup server not found" Error
Error: Failed to backup `{website}`. Backup server not found
This error indicates that while the backup task was triggered, the website is not currently mapped to a server designated with the Backup Role. In the LxRoot cluster architecture, every website must be explicitly assigned a destination for its recovery points.
How to Assign a Backup Role
You can resolve this by using the Move Server utility to define which server should house this website's data archives.
- Navigate to the Customers section in the sidebar.
- Locate the customer and click on the Websites tab.
- Find the affected website and look for the Backup column. It will likely be empty or show "None."
- Click the Move Server (arrows) icon next to the website.
Finalizing the Assignment:
- In the modal, locate the Backup Server dropdown.
- Select a server from your cluster that has the Backup Role enabled.
- Click Update or Move to save the configuration.
Once the assignment is saved, the "Backup" column will update with the server name. You can now retry the backup process from the website's backup dashboard, and it will communicate with the designated storage server.
