Installing Email Role

Firewall Configuration

To ensure mail can be sent and received, allow the following ports on your firewall:

25 465 587 (SMTP) 143 993 (IMAP) 110 995 (POP3)

Installation Steps

  1. Click Servers in the left side bar.
  2. Choose the server that you want to add the Email role to.
  3. Click Add role and select the Email check box.
  4. Complete the configuration form and hit Add role.

Hostname and Reverse DNS

The hostname you provide during installation should be a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) that resolves to the server's public IP.

Critical: Ensure you have a matching Reverse DNS (PTR) record set with your VPS or dedicated server provider. Without a valid PTR record, your outbound mail is highly likely to be marked as spam by recipients like Gmail or Outlook.
Installation Tip

You can navigate away from the server page while the service is being installed; you will be notified via the dashboard once the installation is completed.

Mapping Existing Websites

The Email role will not automatically be mapped to existing websites. If you want current websites to utilize this new role:

  1. Use the Move server option from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the desired websites and choose the new Email role instance as the target.
