Service Websites
About
Service Websites are websites that are dedicated to providing the Control panel, phpMyAdmin, and Webmail services on an LxRoot estate.
Both the Master Organisation (the owner of the LxRoot installation) and Reseller customers have Service Websites. A Service Website can be identified by a tag prefixed to the domain.
Restriction: All Service Websites are placed on the same server as the Control Panel role (the control panel server). Service Websites cannot be moved to a different server.
Control Panel Website
The control panel website is the portal a customer visits to log in to their management interface.
Master Organisations configure this during installation; Resellers are prompted for a domain during their initial account setup.
To change a Control Panel domain:
- Open Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Platform settings in the menu.
- Navigate to Control panel website domains and select the edit button next to the existing domain.
- Click Save to finish.
phpMyAdmin Website
This website allows customers to manage databases through a web interface. LxRoot automatically fetches and installs the software, providing a single sign-on (SSO) link in the customer dashboard for direct access.
To set or change a phpMyAdmin domain:
- Navigate to Settings > Platform.
- Select the Edit button next to the phpMyAdmin domain.
- Click Save to finish.
Webmail Website
Webmail functionality is provided via Roundcube, which is automatically installed upon creation. Customers are directed to their login page via an automated link in their dashboard.
To set or change a Webmail domain:
- Navigate to Settings > Platform.
- Select the Edit button next to the Roundcube domain.
- Click Save to finish.
When changing a service domain, the new domain becomes the Primary, while the previous domain remains as an Alias. This ensures existing users do not lose access as long as the original DNS resolves.
