LxRoot Terminology Guide

SuperAdmin

The SuperAdmin is the entity which installed LxRoot and which owns and manages the servers. This organisation has access to the entire reseller hierarchy. They can create admins, resellers and users.

Admin

Sometimes referred to as a customer. Admin manages and oversees everything for the clients, they have lesser permissions than superadmin but similar to resellers. they can create packages, add clients and services and applications. They can only create users and resellers. Admins and resellers don't have access to the application tab in root level.

Reseller

A reseller has teh same ui and permissions as the admin. They can only create Users.

User

They can't create anything but have access to the services and packages assigned to them.

Subscriber

A subscriber is when someone logs into a domain to manage the settings and the overall application. Their actions only affect the domain they're logged into.

Roles

Sometimes referred to as services. A role is a collection of microservices dedicated to providing a specific service within an LxRoot cluster. LxRoot Roles are Backup, DNS, Database and Email.

PHP Containerization

Each website's PHP processes as well as their user level SSH and cron jobs run within an isolated name space and are subject to hard system resource limits if configured on the hosting package. They cannot access the files of other websites even within the same subscription, nor can they start listening daemons on the public network interfaces of the host o/s.

Control panel server (also known as primary server)

This is the server with control pane role installed (LxRoot) This server provides the orchestration layer for the entire cluster as well as the publicly accessible API, frontend UI, phpMyAdmin and Roundcube websites. We're still working on bringing multi-server control and clusters. They will be available very soon
